Where the wild things are

This week, I planned to continue the skills that we have learned from last week. I added zigzag lines, triangle shapes and etc.
The steps are
1) Read the book "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak,

2) Then we started to create our "Wild thing" with crayon.
3) We made it more interesting by adding a tree, leaves, things the animal eats, like drink and apple.
4) Then we use watercolor to paint it.
5) We also add salt on the paper for extra texture.

P.S. *The technique is Watercolor Crayon Resist. The crayon is oil based and watercolor is water based. When we combine 2 medium, they won't blend. We can paint over the crayon lines, but we will be able see the crayon lines at the end.
I personally love to see students' raw drawing line because of its originality.
